Zippo Candle Lighters Recall

Zippo Manufacturing Company has recalled approximately 17,500 Zippo Slatkin & Co. Candle Lighters due to a burn hazard. When placed on the maximum flame setting, the lighters can emit an excessive flame which could potentially burn the user. Sold by White Barn Candle and Bath & Body Works, the recalled Zippo lighters cost approximately $10 and became available in November 2009.

The Zippo lighters involved in the recall are marked with date codes H09 and G09, which can be found on the black adjuster knob at the end of the lighter. The recalled Zippo candle lighters, which use refillable butane fuel, are approximately 6.5 inches long and once inch wide. The lighters have a chrome nozzle and are finished in either polished chrome or white. Although no injuries have been reported, consumers should stop using the recalled lighters immediately.
