We at Morgan & Morgan are proud to announce that one of our attorneys, Antonio Luciano, participated in the 2016 Florida’s Ultimate Ninja Warrior competition to raise money for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, which provides free legal services to those in need. Luciano had a great time and raised more than twice his donations goal.
The JALA-hosted event happened last month on April 19 at Velocity Air Sports. Before the event, Luciano was pumped to be a part of the competition for a great cause.
“The event was a great success and had awesome turnout,” he said. “Competing in this event provided a fun opportunity to help support the community of Jacksonville.”
When Luciano found out that JALA was hosting a competition to raise funds for the city’s residents, he was ecstatic that his love for the “American Ninja Warrior” TV show merged with his passion for helping those around him who needed it the most. Luciano, known as the “Lawyer Warrior” by us at Morgan & Morgan, signed up immediately to help JALA achieve its mission in its most groundbreaking way yet.
Prior to the actual event, the competition garnered a lot of publicity for the JALA, which was featured on local television and on a public announcement by local radio stations. The competition itself saw heavy social media engagement. Overall, having been planned in just 45 days, the organizers of the event were thrilled to see that it was a resounding success.
JALA continues to get closer and closer to its $50,000 donation goal. So far, 93 donors have donated a total of $17,722. Antonio was one of the few local attorneys to compete, and raised $619, or 248 percent of his goal, which was $250.
JALA was established in 1937 by a group of Jacksonville attorneys who wanted to offer legal services for those who needed it but couldn’t afford it. The non-profit organization now has 35 attorneys in downtown Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Green Cove Springs, and continues to better life for residents in the aforementioned areas by providing civil legal advice and raising awareness and money through local events.
