This October, the Morgan & Morgan Fort Myers office is proud to donate to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida. The organization provides many invaluable services to the community year round.
The Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida opened in 1983. The food bank has faithfully served Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee counties with programs like education and distribution to individuals who might not otherwise be able to afford it.
Each month, our offices choose a charity to donate to. This October, our Fort Myers employees will donate $5 each towards the food bank fund as part of a “Casual Friday” dress down day.
The food bank provides food to more than 28,000 individuals each week. Last year, they distributed over 20 million pounds of food and provided 17 million meals to families, children, and seniors with food insecurity. Many of these individuals choose between buying food and paying for their housing, medical expenses, or transportation costs every day.
Our office firmly believes in helping to reduce the prevalence of food insecurity in the area.
