Benjamin Webster, an attorney with Morgan & Morgan’s Business Trial Group, has filed a lawsuit on behalf Markalyst, a Florida marketing firm, against the Salvador Dali Museum, alleging that the St. Petersburg museum failed to pay over $200,000 in fees for marketing services performed by the company.
According to the lawsuit, in the summer of 2012, the Dali Museum sought out Markalyst to perform an overhaul of the Museum’s marketing strategies and systems. The Dali Museum agreed to pay Markalyst $300,000, plus expenses, for these services. After Markalyst completed its work, the Museum told the company that it would not pay the remainder of the balance it owed, which amounted to $233,200.
The breach of contract lawsuit is currently pending in Florida Circuit Court in Volusia County and has been the subject of articles in the Tampa Bay Times and the Daytona Beach News-Journal.
